Story
Nirjala Ekadashi, also known as Bhima Ekadashi, is a significant Hindu fasting day observed on the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi) of the waxing fortnight in the Hindu month of Jyeshtha. What sets it apart is the strict observance of a waterless fast, unlike other Ekadashis where devotees may consume water or fruits. Legend attributes this austerity to Bhima, the mighty Pandava prince known for his voracious appetite and strength, who couldn't adhere to a regular Ekadashi fast due to his hunger. Observing Nirjala Ekadashi is believed to bestow merits equivalent to fasting on all Ekadashis, promising spiritual purification and blessings.
